Materials for Upcycled Snowman Craft
Discover the joy of repurposing and get ready to create an adorable snowman using upcycled materials with just a few simple supplies.
- an empty plastic yogurt cup (or a cardboard tube)
- a small styro ball
- 2 pcs of small to medium buttons
- 2 pcs soft crafting felt (any color would do)
- hot glue
- a black pen
- a pair of scissors
- a thin metallic ribbon
- a piece of light colored construction paper
How to Make An Upcycled Snowman
Trim the protruding edge from the plastic yogurt’s mouth. Envelop the plastic yogurt cup’s walls with light-colored construction paper, securing the ends with hot glue for a secure seal. Trim away the surplus paper from the upper and lower parts of the cup.
Create a lengthy strip of soft purple crafting felt, around 10 to 15 centimeters in length and 2 to 3 centimeters in width, which will serve as the snowman’s scarf. Attach the small styro ball atop the plastic yogurt cup or the snowman’s body, representing the snowman’s head, using hot glue.
Secure the purple scarf by wrapping it around the snowman’s neck or in the space between the body and head, using hot glue for a permanent bond.
Apply hot glue to attach the buttons to the center of the snowman’s body. Enhance the scarf by trimming its ends and creating small vertical cuts on the edges.
For this upcycled snowman, create a small fold, approximately 1 centimeter wide, and wrap the craft felt atop the snowman’s head to form the bonnet cap. Trim excess craft felt, meet the ends of the open bonnet, and secure with hot glue. Cinch the open part of the bonnet and tie it with a metallic ribbon. Enhance the bonnet with small vertical cuts above the ribbon.
Complete the snowman’s face by adding details such as eyes, a nose, and a sweet smile using a black pen.
