To make this outer space sensory bin, you’ll need the following materials:
- 2 (16 oz) bags of dried chickpeas
- Acrylic paint (light blue, dark blue, purple and black)
- 4 sandwich-size ziplock bags
- 1 cup measuring cup
- Wax paper
- Baking sheet

How to Make Outer Space Sensory Bin
Prepare Your Space: To start with making this outer space sensory bin, gather all supplies and cover your work area with wax paper or newspaper for easy cleanup.
Divide the Chickpeas: Evenly distribute the dried chickpeas into four ziplock bags (approximately 1 ¼ cups per bag).

Add the Color: Squeeze a small amount of paint into each bag — use different colors for each one.
Mix and Coat: Seal the bag, then roll and shake it to evenly coat the chickpeas with paint. Repeat for all four bags.
Dry the Chickpeas: Pour the painted chickpeas onto a baking sheet lined with wax paper, spreading them out into a single layer. Let them air dry for 3-4 hours.
