Can Mermaids Be Real
Mermaids, as described in myths and folklore, are not real.
They are legendary creatures with the upper body of a human and the tail of a fish, appearing in stories across many cultures.

Tales of mermaids may have been inspired by sailors’ sightings of marine animals like manatees or dugongs, which, from a distance, can appear human-like.
While mermaids don’t exist, they continue to capture imaginations through stories, art, and movies.
Materials for Mermaid Slime
Gather these simple materials to create sparkly mermaid slime that’s perfect for magical, hands-on fun!
- 1 Elmer’s clear glue
- 1 C water
- ½ tsp borax
- Food coloring: blue, green, and purple
- Glitter- any color/texture
How to Make Mermaid Slime
Heat 1 cup of water with ½ teaspoon of borax in a glass measuring cup for 30-45 seconds in the microwave. Stir until the borax dissolves.
Pour 1 bottle of clear glue into a large bowl. Add food coloring (4 drops blue, 2 drops green, 1 drop purple) and stir until well mixed.
Gradually add 1 teaspoon of the borax solution at a time, stirring after each addition, until the slime is no longer sticky.
Mix in glitter and fold it into the slime.
Store the slime in a plastic container with a tight-fitting lid or a resealable ziplock bag.
Note: Food coloring amounts may be adjusted to your personal preference. Also, this recipe took 15 teaspoons (5 tablespoons) of water/borax mixture.
