These inspiring ladies recently came out with a book featuring slimes, doughs and other moldable creation — 101 Kids Activities that are the Ooey, Gooey-est Ever!: Nonstop Fun with DIY Slimes, Doughs and Moldables. How’s that for a title?!?
Jam-packed with awesome recipes for kids ranging from preschool to older kids addicted to slime (I’m betting you know some!), this latest book is a must-have for any kid or teacher of younger children.
And I should note — the book is written directly to kids. So children can read it themselves and are told when they’ll need additional adult help or supervision.
I’m really pleased to share one of the recipes from the book with you today!
And keep the fun going with these homemade hot chocolate recipes!

Hot Chocolate Playdough
For extra fun, pair this chocolate playdough recipe with their Marshmallow Playdough, which you can find in their recipe book, and stick it in a mug to make it look like real hot chocolate!
Ingredients for Hot Chocolate Playdough
- 2 cups (480 ml) water
- 1½ cups (188 g) flour
- 4 (0.75-oz [21 g]) packets of hot chocolate mix
- 1 cup (273 g) salt
- 2 to 3 tbsp (30 to 45 ml) vegetable oil
Equipment
- Saucepan
- Spoon
- Wax paper
What You Do
Mix the water, flour, hot chocolate mix, salt and vegetable oil over low heat in a saucepan and stir for about a minute until the dough is formed.

Knead the dough together until it is fully mixed. This dough will make your whole home smell as good as hot chocolate tastes!
Tip: If your dough is too oily, just add an extra packet of hot cocoa.
