5 Things To Do Now the Kids are Back in School

Whew! My kids are finally back in school. (I’m a little excited. Can you tell?)

So now that the kids are out of the house, what’s a girl to do? I offer you five things you could do now that the kids are back in school.

5 Things To Do Now the Kids are Back in School

5. You’ve been stockpiling the mail all summer. Sure you’ve probably pulled out a bill or two that had to be paid. Otherwise, there’s a college-course of paperwork waiting for you. It’s stuffed in  a container in the home office.

4. Work out. Yes yes. We all know running after the kiddos is a form of exercise. But now it’s time to start taking care of yourself again.

3. Go shopping. For real! Forget Target. Now’s your chance to put the little one in a stroller and go look at jewelry or shoes or bras. Who cares?!? As long as it’s something designed for a grown-up.

2. Go get a latte with a friend. You remember friends, don’t you? Trust me. Taking a half hour to reconnect could just be the thing you need. (And on that note, I accept Starbucks donations!)

1. Watch all of the reality shows you DVR’d over the summer in your sweats while eating bonbons. (What? A girl can dream, can’t she?)

    1. Beth – Working out isn’t my favorite thing but I’ve got to get back in the groove! So I’m walking to Vman’s elementary school to start getting it in.

  1. No 5 – definitely. Piles of paperwork and accounting to do.

No 2 – yes please. Time out for an uninterrupted grown up chat.

My own to do list consists of taking time for a long bath without some small child trying to get in with me, dropping my book in the water, nicking my chocolates and spilling my coffee.
Yes – that is what happens in my bath. What, you wash in yours? So wrong! lol

  2. bahahah on eating bonbons. I still have to homeschool the preschooler, clean the house, do the laundry, get in blogging, and all this in time for homework, cooking supper, baths, reading, and bedtime. I wish I had luxury time 😀

    1. A me break is just as important, Karen! Home schooling brings its own challenges for finding time for yourself. Let me know if you have any great tips! Perhaps you’d be up for writing a guest post about it!

  3. My kids are still not back to school yet! They start next week and boy oh boy, your list looks good! I’ve already scheduled time with a friend and I can’t wait! Working out is on the list too…I can kind of wait for that! 😉
