My kids haven’t even seen Star Wars but they have absolutely fallen into the Star Wars fever.
My kids are so obsessed that we’ve been reading a number of Star Wars books, including the awesome Star Wars: Jedi Academy trilogy by Jeffrey Brown. This post contains affiliate links.
Storm Trooper Star Wars Cupcakes

We just finished up on a round of birthdays in our house.
Minions ruled the world last year, didn’t they?
But I also know that Star Wars is going to take over!
Ingredients:
- Box cake mix or your favorite homemade cake recipe
- White Buttercream Frosting
- Marshmallows
- Black Wilton Frosting or a Food Grade Marker in Black

Directions:
Step 1: Mix your cake mix as directed or us your favorite homemade cake recipe.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees (F).
Line your cupcake tin with cupcakes holders and set aside.
Step 2: Spoon the cake batter into the cupcake liners (filling about ½ way each) and bake for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let cool completely, and then frost.

Step 3: While the cupcakes are cooling prepare your storm troopers (marshmallows).
After testing these I found it was much easier to make the faces with the black food grade marker.
First add a line across the top, and then make two triangles for the eyes.
Add the mouth and breathing lines off to the side to complete your Storm Trooper.

Step 4: Generously frost each cupcake, for easy frosting I use this cupcake decorating set.
Carefully add your Storm Troopers in the center of the cupcake.
Step 5: Enjoy and rock the party!

If I had a cool black food marker like that I’d let my son make those this weekend. I wonder if melted chocolate would be too difficult to decorate the marshmallow with or even make them melt. Thanks for sharing the cute idea.
Food markers aren’t expensive and they last a while… I’ve used them for other food projects throughout the year. I’m always glad to have them on hand.
Totally adorable! Pinned and tweeted to share. Thank you for linking up with us for Snickerdoodle Sunday!
So cute! My little guy is slightly Star Wars obsessed right now, so he is going to LOVE these!
