St. Patrick’s Day Skittles Decorations
Right now these Skittles decorations are sitting on my mantle, but I have a feeling one of my boys will steal one soon enough for their room. Ha!
Thinking about St. Patrick’s Day decorations, I couldn’t help but think of rainbows, which then made me think of Skittles.
Who can resist the rainbow of colors?
To create something new, I thought it would be fun to create a pattern using them to create a rain decorations for the home as part of our St. Patricks Day crafts.

It’s that easy to make these fun and bright-colored Skittles decorations!
Tips in Creating Rainbow Skittles Decorations
For the twisted color cone, create one straight line of red from the top to bottom.
Then create an orange line of Skittles next to it.
As you work your way around the cone, it will naturally create a twisting pattern.
For the band of colors, begin at the top or bottom (your choice) and create a full ring around the cone.
Then create another band right next to it.

Don’t leave space between the bands.
Be sure to factor in the time it takes to separate the colors.
From start to finish, it probably took me an hour and a half to separate the Skittles and create the two cones.
Right now these colorful cones are displayed on my mantle, but I wouldn’t be surprised if one of the boys sneaks down to take one to their rooms!

This is so adorable and colorful! My kids would manage to still eat these.. glue and all! ha!
LOL! I did have to keep the boys from eating them. But once they realized they were for the project, they somehow took it seriously and laid off of the Skittles!
I am pretty sure my 3 year old would try to pick the skittles off and eat them, but I love the rainbow cones!!
LOL. Who’s to say my husband won’t do the same thing? 😀
Really fun, and certainly preferable to actually eating them! Thanks so much for sharing on craft schooling Sunday.
So cute! I saw the pic and wondered what you used! LOL I think my 2 year old would snatch this up pretty quickly! Thanks for linking up at the #HomeMattersParty !
I think I pulled both of these in under 30 minutes… perhaps during her nap? Ha!
I think it might make me insane that I couldn’t eat them, lol! Cute and a fun project, I would think, to do with kids. They could help sort and hand as you were doing the gluing.
Thanks for sharing with us on Throwback Thursday & we’re looking forward already to what you’ll bring next week! 🙂
Mollie
Ha! I thought I would be snacking away, too. But something about hot glue kept me from eating them all.
These are ADORABLE! I made jellybean trees like this for my daughter’s Candyland themed birthday party. They are SO easy. I love the rainbow pattern.
I love eating skittles, and passed that on to my kids. They would be wanting to pick off the skittles to eat! 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Family Joy blog linkup.
This is so cute! I love skittles, so I’d probably eat more than I glued on, lol. Thanks for sharing this at #HomeMattersParty
