Pipe cleaners are not easily recyclable because they contain a mix of metal wire and synthetic fibers, which most recycling centers cannot process.

However, they can be reused for crafts or repurposed before disposal.

Supplies for Pipe Cleaner Flowers

• Toilet paper rolls
• Tissue paper (green) 
• Pipe cleaners (green, pink, yellow)
• Tape
• Ruler
• Ribbon (yellow)
• Construction paper (white)

How to Make Pipe Cleaner Flowers

To start making your own pipe cleaner flowers, cut construction paper to fit the toilet paper roll and secure it with tape.

Cut tissue paper into squares and fill each roll.

Cut green pipe cleaners into 4-inch strips for stems and pink and yellow pipe cleaners into 3-inch pieces for petals.

Shape each petal by twisting the pink and yellow pipe cleaner pieces together. Stack four petals and insert a green pipe cleaner through the center, twisting to secure them.

Adjust the petals to form a flower. Repeat for the desired number of flowers.

Insert each flower into the toilet paper roll.

Tie a ribbon around the roll and curl the ends with scissors.
