Where is The Night Before Christmas From
“The Night Before Christmas,” also known as “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” is a poem that originated in the United States. It was written by Clement Clarke Moore and is believed to have been first published anonymously in 1823. The poem is now widely attributed to Moore, a professor and poet.
The story is a narrative poem that describes the visit of Santa Claus on Christmas Eve. It introduces many of the conventions we associate with Santa today, including the names of the reindeer and the notion of Santa coming down the chimney with a sack of toys.
The poem gained popularity quickly and became a cherished part of Christmas traditions.
