Who is in the Nativity Scene
The nativity scene, or manger scene, depicts the characters present at the birth of Jesus Christ.
Central figures in the nativity scene include Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus. Mary, as Jesus’ mother, is usually portrayed holding the infant. Joseph, her husband and Jesus’ earthly father, stands beside her as a protective and caring figure.
The nativity scene also features shepherds who were visited by angels and directed to the stable where Jesus was born. Additionally, the Wise Men or Magi, who followed the star to bring gifts to the newborn, are commonly included in nativity scenes.

Angels, animals like the ox and the donkey, and occasionally other figures like the innkeeper may also be present, depending on the tradition and interpretation of the nativity story.
The nativity scene serves as a powerful symbol of the Christmas story, emphasizing themes of humility, love, and the miraculous birth of Jesus.
Nativity Verses
Nativity verses, often referred to as Bible verses or passages, are excerpts from the Bible that describe the events surrounding the birth of Jesus Christ. These verses are central to the nativity story and are commonly read or recited during Christmas celebrations. Here are some key nativity verses from the Bible:
Luke 2:6-7: “While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no guest room available for them.” (NIV)
Luke 2:8-14: The angel’s announcement to the shepherds: “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord… Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.'” (NIV)
Matthew 2:1-2: “After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, ‘Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.'” (NIV)

Matthew 2:9-11: The Wise Men’s visit: “After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” (NIV)
Isaiah 9:6: “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (NIV)
These nativity verses from the Bible capture the essence of the Christmas story, highlighting the birth of Jesus, the angelic announcements, the visit of the Wise Men and the prophetic anticipation of the Messiah’s arrival.
