How Did Jellycat Start
Jellycat is a British company that started in the 1990s. The story goes that the founders of Jellycat, William and Charlotte Gatacre, were running a gift shop called “JellyBean” in London. During a trip to the United States, they encountered stuffed animals that were soft and huggable, unlike anything they had seen before.
Inspired by these unique plush toys, the Gatacres decided to create their own line of stuffed animals with a focus on creating irresistibly soft and luxurious designs. They formed Jellycat, and in 1999, the company launched its first collection of quirky and whimsical plush toys.
Jellycat’s stuffed animals gained popularity for their high-quality materials, innovative designs, and a touch of humor. The company’s commitment to creating soft and cuddly toys with a distinct personality contributed to its success.
