Being a Work at Home Mom (WAHM), people sometimes think that I’m just taking it easy.
Hanging on the couch, chatting on the phone.
Honestly, I don’t know what they think I do.
But the moment my kids head off to school, I hit the pavement running.
I work hard while they’re gone because I want to be available and present when they come home.
I don’t want to miss a single moment with these kiddos.
Why? Because I have a fear of missing out #FOMO.
Because while parents often talk about the parties, school gatherings and soccer games as their highlights, it’s the simple, unexpected moments that make parenting awesome for me.
I love hanging out with the kids just playing a game.
The banter between my two boys absolutely cracks me up.
During these everyday moments, I see their personalities, learn their fears and worries and create a lasting bond with my kids.
And I don’t want to miss out! “Fear of Missing Out” is a powerful thing.
The other day, the kids wanted to go upstairs early to play a board game.
The last thing I want to say is “no” because I have a seasonal sinus pressure headache.
There may be good reasons to miss time with the kids, but a sinus headache — well, I absolutely refuse to accept that! And so should you. It’s the simple, unexpected moments that make parenting awesome for me. Click To Tweet
No more sinus pressure headache.
Instead of lying on the couch feeling miserable, thanks to a trip to a pharmacy, I laughed with my kids at their silly dancing.
I listened to my son’s concern about getting braces (yep, that happened).
I curled up with my kiddos to read an extra bedtime story. It’s these uneventful moments that make parenting wonderful and create lasting memories.
