Easy Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken Recipe
This week we made an easy Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken Recipe that will become a regular fan favorite with your family.
The house smelled amazing, it took just a couple of minutes for me to get into the slow cooker and my husband and I went nuts over this meal.
I love slow cooker recipes, especially when the weather starts turning chilly. But I especially love Crockpot recipes that take less than 10 minutes of prep.

Easy Crockpot BBQ Pulled Chicken Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 pounds boneless chicken breast
- 1 small onion (or 1/2 medium onion)
- 1/2 red pepper
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cups ketchup
- 2 Tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2 Tbsp water
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp ground mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions for crockpot bbq pulled chicken recipe:
1. Place the chicken breasts along the bottom of your Crockpot.
2. Thinly slice the onion. Then thinly slice the red pepper, cutting those pieces in half.
Place both the onion and red pepper over the chicken.
3. Mince the garlic and sprinkle it over the contents.
4. Mix all of the remaining ingredients in a medium-sized bowl.
5. Pour ingredients over the chicken.
6. Cook in Crockpot for 3.5-4 hours on high or 6-8 on low.
Note: You may want to turn over the chicken once halfway through cooking, but you don’t have to.

7. Shred the chicken, which will easy pull apart, using two forks.
8. Stir the chicken and sauce completely. Allow to cook for an additional 15-30 minutes.

Had to see what all the hoop-da-la was all about…This is a very good,easy and tasty recipe! I followed it to a “T”. Next time my DH wants me to use chicken thighs instead of drumsticks. I did double the recipe for 3 of us. The sauce never really thickened or got to a thick and sticky glaze. The ease of preparation, as well as being an inexpensive meal is a real seller for this recipe. I served this with Meow’s Ramen Fried “Rice” #34716 which complimented it very nicely. Thanks Jan for sharing this with us. 
This dish is less about getting the sauce to thicken than it is to flavor the chicken. If you really want it to stick… mix in a couple of tablespoons of cornmeal with water during the last 20 minutes… it will make the sauce stick like a more traditional BBQ sauce.
