Cheerios Peanut Butter Bars Recipe
When I had heard that Cheerios went completely gluten-free, I was quite ecstatic.
A close friend of mine cannot eat any gluten…and she desperately missed her Cheerios.
I began thinking of recipes, and then realized her daughter has a peanut allergy. Hmmm… this was going to be a challenge.
How can I make a healthy snack her entire family can enjoy?

Then I came across a recipe from Gym Craft Laundry that inspired me, and I just knew what I had to make!
Ingredients:
- 3 cups regular Cheerios
- 1/2 cup peanut butter (to keep it allergy-free, we used soy nut butter)
- 1/2 cup raw honey
- 1/2 cup raw oats
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Directions for Cheerios Peanut Butter Bars:
In a microwaveable bowl, combine the honey and soy nut butter.
Microwave for about 30 second and stir until it is creamy.
Add in the oats, chocolate chips and Cheerios.
Using a paper towel, swipe the inside of an 8×8 baking pan with Crisco to keep the mixture from sticking.

These look yummy! What is the texture like? Is it more hard and crunchy or soft and chewy? Thanks!
The Cheerios are crunchy but the rest is chewy. It pulls apart easy.
Cheerios have always been a favorite of mine, They are just so good either way, with milk or without. I’ve pinned these to give them a try.
This recipe should not be labeled as gluten-free. General Mills has not labeled this flavor as gluten free as they are not made in a dedicated gluten-free facility.
Gina — you’re actually mistaken. Regular Cheerios are labeled as gluten-free, which is what the recipe calls for. You can learn more here — http://www.cheerios.com/glutenfree.aspx 🙂
I love no-bake recipes like this for the summer!
Could you use almond butter or walnut butter instead of peanut butter?
Of course! The different butters will change how it tastes. Just make sure the butters have a heavier, stickier consistently like peanut butter to solidify the bar.
