  • Wilton white icing writer (affiliate)

ABC Handwriting Cookies Tutorial

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375° degrees.

Step 2: In a small mixing bowl, add flour, baking soda and baking powder.

Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Add egg and vanilla to sugared butter and mix for about 45 seconds.

Step 5: Slowly add the dry ingredients and mix until well-incorporated.

Step 6: Using a cookie scoop, form uniform balls out of the dough and place on parchment-lined cookie sheets.

Step 7: Bake 10-12 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool for at least 2 hours on a wire rack.

Step 8: Melt 1/2 cup of the green Wilton candy melts in the microwave for seconds. Stir until completely melted. Do not overheat or the melts will get too hard.

Step 9: Spread the melted candy on each sugar cookie and let cool for at least 1 hour.

Step 10: Using a tube of Wilton icing writer, alternate by drawing a straight, solid line across the cookie and a dotted line…resembling old-fashioned handwriting paper.

Repeat down the entire cookie. Let set for 30 minutes.

Step 11: Using the icing writer, draw cursive letters on each cookie. Let set for 30 minutes.

ENJOY!
