12 Awesome Habits Every Mother Should Have
Take time for yourself
Every mom should make a habit of taking time for herself.
It makes you a better mom if you’re able to fill up your own tank.
I actually started blogging not only to share our story about having a high-needs kid but it also gave me a creative outlet.
Bubble baths
After the kids go to bed, every mom should make it a habit to take a bubble bath at least once a month.
It’s such an amazing way to reset! Learn about all of the health benefits of baths.

Hug your children daily
No matter what sort of mood you are in (or the children are in), you should always make it a point to hug your children on a daily basis.
I hear from other parents that once my boys hit their teenage years, they’re not going to want to snuggle up.
That’s fine… but they better be prepared for that hug!
Go shopping for yourself
When it comes to items to buy for the household, don’t you always put yourself last? Make it a habit to go shopping for yourself now and again.

The other day I snuck off to get myself some new winter fleeces to wear.
Not the sexiest things… but they’ll keep me cozy warm and happy all winter.
And it was lovely not having to fight the kids in the store.
Drink your favorite beverage in peace
Every mom should make it a habit to wake up before the kids to enjoy their favorite caffeinated drink.
Not all moms are early birds, so the night owls can still opt for this option.
My mom used to get up early in the summer to set up the water sprinklers before we were awake.
She loved the quiet and that cup of coffee!

Take the time to listen
Mamas are often so busy that they don’t take the time to listen to their spouse or children.
I know I can fall into that trap — I feel like my to-do list is a mile long and we have five appointments to get to.
Make it a habit to listen more intently.
Use the crockpot
Since moms are so busy, make it an awesome habit to use the crockpot frequently.
Crockpots save time and money, and it’s an awesome habit every mother should have!

I’m stockpiling crockpot recipes right now to get myself going for the cooler weather!

Eat in the bathroom
Sounds gross, but every mom should make that habit to sneak chocolate into the bathroom, away from kids for some peace and quiet every once in a while.
(Some of you moms have even told me that you HIDE the goodies because you don’t want to have to share with the kids.)
Because let’s be serious. That may be the only five minutes you get to yourself that day.
Now this is a habit worth keeping!

Be yourself
No more being someone you’re not to impress someone you don’t like.
Personally, I find it more exhausting to try to put on a face and be someone I’m not.
Make it a habit to be yourself.
After all, you are the best mom for your kids and they love you for it!
Read to your kids
No matter how busy mamas get, they should always find the time to read to their kids.
Every mom should make this an awesome habit in their life.
I read to my boys well into junior high school.
It stands out as one of the best and favorite things I did for us all.

Be the best mom you can be
Each day a mom wakes up, she should make it a habit to be the very best mom she can be.
Some days might not be pretty, but just keep chugging along.
Sometimes the days that start off the worst end of working themselves out.

Enjoy those moments
Children grow up fast and time will pass even faster.
Make it an awesome habit to enjoy those children as often as you can.
And don’t hate on another mom for not enjoying every single second… moms are only human and let’s face it, kids aren’t all joy and rainbows and sunshine.
What is one awesome habit you think every mother should have?
