Calming Sensory Overload in Kids
Calming sensory overload in kids involves recognizing and addressing situations where a child may feel overwhelmed by sensory stimuli.
Children, particularly those with sensory processing challenges, may become stressed or anxious in environments with too much sensory input.
Strategies to calm sensory overload in kids include creating quiet spaces with dim lighting, providing sensory tools like this calming sensory bottle, stress balls or textured objects, incorporating soothing activities such as listening to calming music or engaging in deep pressure activities like hugging or squeezing, and maintaining a predictable routine.
Tailoring these strategies to the child’s preferences and sensitivities helps create a supportive and calming environment, fostering emotional regulation and well-being.
