Earth Day History
Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, as a response to growing concerns about pollution and environmental destruction.
Senator Gaylord Nelson from Wisconsin led the movement, inspiring millions of Americans to participate in rallies and educational events.
This activism helped drive major environmental legislation, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and the establishment of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Today, Earth Day is recognized globally, promoting awareness and action for environmental protection.
