Jingle Bells. Batman Smells!

The potty humor in our house is out of control. We have two boys — ages five and seven. If it poops, pees, burps or farts, it’s funny. <sigh>

As the mom, I’m trying to do my best to curtail this trend. I give them the disapproving glances. I have them go “spit out” inappropriate words into the toilet. I tell them that kind of talk isn’t okay. I have a feeling this is a battle I am losing.

So why on earth would I teach them a new version of Jingle Bells? Well, because sometimes being a kid means getting to talk about “gross” things and think they’re funny. And sometimes being a parent means you get to teach it to them.

Besides, Batman rocks in this house. So anything possibly connected to Batman becomes instantly cool.

You may not have thought about this Jingle Bells version for a while, but I guarantee you sang it as a kid!

  1. My boys are now 12, 10 and 8 and they STILL sing this song EVERY Christmas. I think it’s become part of their advent preparation for the coming of the baby Jesus. It’s awesome that you were the one to teach your boys this song. What a wonderful legacy to leave to your grand kids (lol)!

My boys loved this song when they were younger! I get the boy humor and I’ve learned to just accept it. I have to admit at times they really can be funny! Thanks for sharing!
