Jingle Bells. Batman Smells!
The potty humor in our house is out of control. We have two boys — ages five and seven. If it poops, pees, burps or farts, it’s funny. <sigh>
As the mom, I’m trying to do my best to curtail this trend. I give them the disapproving glances. I have them go “spit out” inappropriate words into the toilet. I tell them that kind of talk isn’t okay. I have a feeling this is a battle I am losing.
So why on earth would I teach them a new version of Jingle Bells? Well, because sometimes being a kid means getting to talk about “gross” things and think they’re funny. And sometimes being a parent means you get to teach it to them.
Besides, Batman rocks in this house. So anything possibly connected to Batman becomes instantly cool.
You may not have thought about this Jingle Bells version for a while, but I guarantee you sang it as a kid!

My boys are now 12, 10 and 8 and they STILL sing this song EVERY Christmas. I think it’s become part of their advent preparation for the coming of the baby Jesus. It’s awesome that you were the one to teach your boys this song. What a wonderful legacy to leave to your grand kids (lol)!
Ha! I hadn’t thought of the fact that will grandkids will probably be singing this one day 🙂
Haha, we used to sing this as kids too.
I taught this to my children this year as well. That counts as a homeschool lesson, right? Lol!
Oh my gosh! I think it should count. Now go have a snow day 😉
My 7yo learned this at school last year. He’e been singing it for weeks now!
🙂
Two years ago, when my daughter was 2.5 yrs old, this was the song her 5 year old brother taught her. Where did he learn it? From us 🙂
I have only one boy and am starting to experience this myself. He loves spiderman though–the song brings back childhood memories!
I have to say I laughed when I read this..like it or not, kidds love to do it..Bo et Obi, my kiddos, can’t stop laughing watching videos in YouTube about farting baby singin in the bathtub…well welll..
My boys loved this song when they were younger! I get the boy humor and I’ve learned to just accept it. I have to admit at times they really can be funny! Thanks for sharing!
As much as I try to “disapprove,” they do crack me up!
That song is a Christmas tradition we must keep alive!
Haha! Just discovered your blog. I would love an invite to your children’s books board. pinterest.com/kmanscill
