After waking up to yet another new blanket of snow this week, my 7yo turned to me and said, “Mom, Summer is never coming, is it?”
Well, one can dream big guy!

It just has too, yet hopefully sooner rather than later! I know how he feels. 🙁
I am absolutely dreaming with you – of summer that is. I have had enough of this frozen white stuff!
They had the polar bear run last weekend and actually had to bulldoze to open up the ice for people to jump in…
I kind of feel the same way he does. Longest.Winter.Ever.
We feel exactly the same way with more snow again two days ago. We’d be happy just to see some Spring! Purrs and paw-pats, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
It won’t be long.

I feel his pain. It has been a very long winter.
Stay warm! Thanks for the lovely post & for hosting, & God bless.
Oh I do hope summer is coming….sometime?
I don’t know. We woke up to 3 more inches of snow this morning. I’m going on strike!
Such a stunning photo! I needed that. Too many wintery photos being shared this week. I need spring to arrive. Soon!
Ha! Being in denial has it’s privileges 😉
You know, I live 6 hours from Chicago and have never been there!
Wait. What?!? I only say that because I literally picked up everything and moved out to Chicago in my 20s because it is such an awesome city. But don’t come now. Stay home. Stay warm. Come in the summer when this place absolutely rocks!
That’s a really lovely picture. I too hope it warms up for you soon.
Summer is just around the corner! 🙂
Lovely photo and am also looking forward to summer not too long to go now though heheh!
Have a summerdreamtastic week 😉
We were in Chicago for a long weekend in October and the weather was perfect. My family is up there and lamenting their super cold winter!
Chicago shines in the summer, fall and early winter. Around January/February/March it goes downhill. It’s the price you pay to be near such an amazing city 🙂
Summer feels about a million years away right now!
I’m beginning to question if the seasons will ever change… and I like winter!
It feels like that to many of us. Thankfully, our weather isn’t as drastic as y’alls. I’m looking forward to spring-time not so much as summer. I hate the heat & humidity more than the cold & snow! Happy WW!!
My SIL lived in Atlanta and she said her summers were like our winters. Except she would get everyone outside first thing in the morning before they had to retreat to the house. Here, we just stay inside and stare out the window 🙂
One fine day =)
I remember that scene from last summer at BlogHer. What a great city and a great time.
I miss summer, spring, flowers, fresh warm air, on and on and on. When will spring come? Hope soon for your big guy!
The boys were particularly mad at the additional 3 inches of snow we got last night. One of those mornings you just want to pull the covers over your head again.
Hi Jenny, wow that looks so and I just can imagine the sun the heat and how wonderful it must feel to be on a boat! Lol! It’s so cold here in NY too! I hope March goes fast. Have a great day.
Julie
I’m keeping my fingers crossed! And if you find yourself in Chicago, that architectural boat tour is one of the “touristy” things even locals do 🙂
*sigh* Even here in Texas the temps are outrageous! I live here because we have the mildest winters, which means I am in pain less often than when I lived on the East Coast!! Just yesterday we had one of the worst freezes we’ve had in years. I am thankful we’ll be back in the high 60’s/low 70’s before the end of the week!
I’m with your son. I feel like summer is never going to get here. Love the pic. We’ve only been to Chicago once and we took some kind of little boat tour around there! Have a great Wednesday and thanks for the linky.
Happy Wednesday Jenny! It’s great to join your blog hop again this week. What a gorgeous picture! I’ve been to Chicago twice and I like it there a lot. It’s such a beautiful city. Thanks for hosting. 🙂
I’m definitely partial to Chicago… I picked up and moved here years ago just because it’s such an awesome city.
Thanks for hosting Jenny! I feel ya on the weather. I’m back in the office today after two more snow days home with the kids. Cabin fever has taken on a whole new meaning this year.
Great photo.
We’ve actually had a short winter here in Southern California. Wish we would get cold again, but all the trees have come out and are sprouting their green.
Wonderful photo! Happy ww!

All I’ve been doing is dreaming of spring and warmer weather too.
Pretty shot! We’re already having summer weather in Hawaii =)
Absolutely agree: Wish to have Summer too 😉 But before, please let us have a lovely springtime.
Thank you, dear Jennifer for hosting.

… far away in Bavaria, Augsburg …
I would love to go to Chicago. So pretty.
Ha! We got another new blanket of snow in Chicago this morning. My 6YO had the opposite reaction. She loves winter, and lives in eternal hope that one of these days, the blanket of snow will be deep enough and timely enough to cancel school. (So far, not much luck with that.)
