ChicagoSummerDream

After waking up to yet another new blanket of snow this week, my 7yo turned to me and said, “Mom, Summer is never coming, is it?”
Well, one can dream big guy!

They had the polar bear run last weekend and actually had to bulldoze to open up the ice for people to jump in…

Wait. What?!? I only say that because I literally picked up everything and moved out to Chicago in my 20s because it is such an awesome city. But don’t come now. Stay home. Stay warm. Come in the summer when this place absolutely rocks!

Chicago shines in the summer, fall and early winter. Around January/February/March it goes downhill. It’s the price you pay to be near such an amazing city 🙂

It feels like that to many of us. Thankfully, our weather isn’t as drastic as y’alls. I’m looking forward to spring-time not so much as summer. I hate the heat & humidity more than the cold & snow! Happy WW!!

My SIL lived in Atlanta and she said her summers were like our winters. Except she would get everyone outside first thing in the morning before they had to retreat to the house. Here, we just stay inside and stare out the window 🙂

I miss summer, spring, flowers, fresh warm air, on and on and on. When will spring come? Hope soon for your big guy!

The boys were particularly mad at the additional 3 inches of snow we got last night. One of those mornings you just want to pull the covers over your head again.

Hi Jenny, wow that looks so and I just can imagine the sun the heat and how wonderful it must feel to be on a boat! Lol! It’s so cold here in NY too! I hope March goes fast. Have a great day.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed! And if you find yourself in Chicago, that architectural boat tour is one of the “touristy” things even locals do 🙂

*sigh* Even here in Texas the temps are outrageous! I live here because we have the mildest winters, which means I am in pain less often than when I lived on the East Coast!! Just yesterday we had one of the worst freezes we’ve had in years. I am thankful we’ll be back in the high 60’s/low 70’s before the end of the week!

Ha! We got another new blanket of snow in Chicago this morning. My 6YO had the opposite reaction. She loves winter, and lives in eternal hope that one of these days, the blanket of snow will be deep enough and timely enough to cancel school. (So far, not much luck with that.)
