I definitely believe it’s our job to help kids learn how to work for what they want… not just give it to them. Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t give in sometimes 🙂 🙂 🙂

We work on teaching our kids that if they want something, they can EARN it! They earn money in the house so they can buy the toys they want rather than just expecting them.

I see so many children today that feel they deserve things just because others have them, going so far as to begrudge others their hard work or the success of their families. It’s as ridiculous as it is unhealthy.

I’ve pledged the entitlement mindset is one I am going to be very mindful of with my own children.

Thanks, Danielle. I often worry that my kids will have an “I deserve it” mentality and have worked hard on making sure they learn that there is a world beyond them and that helping/thinking of others is what’s important.
