  2. Stacey @ The Anonymous Blonde says:

Oh, no, that’s why pumpkin spice lattes are so delicious – 1 cup of sugar! Yikes! I do love my PSLs though!

    1. A shocker, right! When we don’t make things, it’s always surprising to find out what’s inside. But I do LOVE the lattes!

  3. That sounds amazing!! I will have to give this a try!

  4. I am making this right now. Any thoughts on how long to simmer? Or how much to add to espresso to make it an actual latte? Thanks for the idea!

    1. When I worked as a barista, a shot of espresso was literally a shot glass of espresso, so a double shot, is two shot glasses 🙂 normal latte is one

    2. Simple syrup- Sugar andWater- simmer for 3-5 minutes. Same for this except you are adding spices.

  5. Melissa @ A Room for Two with a View says:

    Melissa

  10. Yes, please! I can’t wait to give this a try! I am featuring you on this week’s Hearts for Home blog hop. 🙂

  11. Jenn Alex Brockman says:

I wonder if it can be made with splenda? I have a diabetic in the house.

    1. I don’t know why you couldn’t make it with Splenda. They have a version that you can use in baking so I know it can withstand the temperatures.

  12. Dallas Thompson says:

Sooo maybe I’m an absolute idiot.. But what do you do after you’ve made the syrup?

    1. Add it your choice of milk…. 1%, soy or what not. Heat it up and enjoy 🙂

      1. I appreciate the recipe but…isn’t there supposed to be coffee or espresso in this? Kinda left us hanging at the pumpkin spice part..got no latte LOL

        1. Sorry. You’re the first one to actually point that out! Guess everyone already has their coffee and milk in hand. Ha!

  13. what about frappachino would you just add ice and blend?

  14. This is delicious! I made the spice mix and added it to regular coffee and skim milk. I made several batches and canned them for friends, and I will be making a lot more of it because everyone is asking for refills! Bravo, and thanks for sharing this amazing recipe. PS- it tastes great in tea, as well!

    1. Yeah! So glad you liked it. And canning it… I never would have thought of that. What an awesome idea!!!!

      1. How do you can this??? Asking for a friend

  15. I just amended my grocery list! I can not wait to try this! Thank you so much for sharing!

    1. Ha! Have fun and definitely come back to tell me what you think!

  16. How long do you summer for?

  17. I mean simmer:) autocorrect sorry!

  18. I made this today, I think I failed on the simmer part, and I added another scoop of pumpkin puree, because I made the pumpkin pie spice and it came out too strong! But in the end it still tastes good! I also made my own whipped cream by putting heavy whipping cream & vanilla extract in a jar & shaking it! I think it added the right amount of creamy ness to it

  19. What should I do with leftover syrup? Refrigerate or room temperature? Thanks!

    1. And by the way, this recipe is perfect!

  20. I love flavored coffees. I just started learning how to make my own. The store-bought versions are out of my budget these days.

  25. Bekah Reynolds says:

I think these are amazing!! Thank you so much for sharing!! I made them for my mom and I this morning and we think they are amazing! However, next time I make them, I think I will cut back some of the sugar cause they are rather sweet. But I do love them! Thank you so much!! 🙂

    1. Bekah Reynolds says:

Also pinned this as soon as I tried it and loved it! 🙂

    2. So pleased you like the recipe. And I completely understand using a little less sugar. The original is sweet but some people prefer it less so.

      1. Bekah Reynolds says:

Okay awesome well thank you so much! 🙂

  26. This looks amazing and I may have to give up sleep tonight by having this caffeinated yumminess before bed!

  27. So. Just to clarify. 1 cup of sugar to 1/2 cup of coffee is ridiculous. This MUST be a typo right?
I would think this makes a Pumkin Spice base and then add it to the coffee??? Unless you are a human-fly hybrid, and in that case never mind and enjoy!!!

    1. Actually, Jon. Most of the drink is made up of water and milk. (1 cup water, 2 cups milk) and then the coffee adds the needed coffee flavor. But this drink, while considered a coffee drink, certainly isn’t made up mostly of coffee!

  28. I love Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte and can’t wait to try your recipe. I’ve already have it pinned. Thanks for sharing…stopping by from Inspire Me Monday.

  36. Mary Newth says:

I was going to make this for a large group- 9 people. Could I go ahead and make the sugar/ water/ pumpkin puree and spices blend ahead of time? Would I refrigerate it? It would be easier to add the coffee and milk at the last minute and serve to guests. Thanks!

    1. You could make it ahead of time… but I would make it the morning of and definitely refrigerate it. Enjoy and let me know how the group likes it!

  37. Fall is here says:

Huge pumpkin spice fan! Tried this recipe but It was too sweet for my taste I just wanted more pumpkin! I did it a second time and used a half cup of pumpkin purée and 3 tablespoons of spice and then used a cheese cloth to strain without the excess pumpkin “pulp” and fell in love!

    1. Did you use the full amount of sugar? Debating on whether to try with sugar or splenda…

  38. I made it taste like the real thing, the only think I’m doing differently next time is using less sugar it was a little too sweet for me but still yummy??

  39. Hi
Silly Swede here (where Starbucks are still few an far away)
Am I suppose to use all the syrup for 1 cup?

  40. Yes! I’m so incredibly excited to try this. Pinned. Thanks for sharing with To Grandma’s House We Go, I’ll be featuring you next week.
