My boys gave up plain old milk a while ago. I initially felt a bit panicked about making sure they got enough dairy in their diets. But then we got creative and found different options for them, including Horizon® products!
Ensure Your Kids Get Their Dairy
I’m not sure when it happened… but my kiddos began refusing plain old milk. They wouldn’t touch it at breakfast or dinner. What was I going to do?
I actually turned to Horizon® milk boxes, trying their vanilla milk option. It was a hit. Before I knew it, these milk boxes became a staple for when we were on the go or for their lunch boxes when they headed off to school.
You can find these Horizon® products easily at your local Walmart, which is a great place to stock up for lunch-box items and snacks.
Horizon® Milk Boxes
Horizon® Kids Aseptic Milk Boxes on-the-go packaging is perfect for my kids. I add one to their lunch box every day. They like the additional taste of the vanilla and are preferable for us to juice boxes.
And for an extra treat, on the weekends the boys get a package of the Horizon chocolate milk, which is flavored with organic cocoa.
I feel good about grabbing the milk boxes, whether for lunch or when we’re heading out in the car. Each milk box has 8 grams of protein, is an excellent source of calcium and has no high fructose corn syrup.
By the way — can I just mention how excited I am to see the Peanuts characters on the Horizon® milk packaging! I’ve been waiting for The Peanuts Movie to come to theaters (starting Nov. 6th) ever since I saw the movie preview last year. I can’t wait to take the boys!
Horizon® Super Squeeze Fruit Pouches
We’re just discovering the Horizon® fruit pouches. We really like how creamy they are. And they come in three terrific flavors: Mixed Berry, Strawberry and Orange. Made with real fruit and organic milk, every serving has 5 grams of protein and is an excellent source of calcium.
Tip! Freeze these fruit pouches the night before and put them into your child’s lunch boxes in the morning. The yogurt will be thawed but cool and refreshing by lunch time. It’ll also keep the rest of the lunch box nice and cool — like a built-in freezer block!
