Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While we have had great experiences with CaringBridge, I wholeheartedly agree that folks should be aware of what they’re supporting when they donate.

CarinbgBridge puts up many deceptive pleas and CaringBridge’s insistence that it labels these donations properly is a technicality. If you’re in a distressed state and the only door right in front of you says “Go this way to help,” you aren’t likely to read the rest of the sentence that might as well say: “…us pay our Director $200,000/yr. and our marketing department millions.”

I wish I had known about this last year when my Dad was fighting cancer…he eventually lost the battle. It would have taken the stress of dealing with friends and family updates off our shoulders. Nice to know this is out there for others!

My husband was diagnosed with stage 3A Colon Cancer, three years ago (cancer free now). Thank goodness a friend recommended Caring Bridge to us. With all of the craziness of appointments; learning about what your loved one now has; juggling the daily routine along with the huge change… calls to friends and family members to update them just adds to the stress. We used Caring Bridge through all of my husband’s appointments, surgery and chemo. It was absolutely fantastic. It IS fantastic.Thank you for sharing it with others. I got so excited when I read your post title!
