I participated in an Influencer Program on behalf of Mom Central for Revolution Foods. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Many of you know my youngest one just recently graduated preschool and will be heading off to Kindergarten next year. (Sniffle Sniffle. Read why I cried a little here.) In the interim this summer, he will be going to day camp, as will many of his fellow classmates. We moms were all talking about what on earth were we going to do lunch wise? Many of us haven’t ever had to pack a lunch on a regular basis. And let’s face it. A lot of those prepackaged lunches are stuffed with artificial ingredients, dyes and preservatives.
Then I heard about a food revolution. Actually, I heard about Revolution Foods! Two moms who ignited a healthy food movement in schools nationwide created the company to offer a convenient way for kids to eat meals made with natural, high-quality ingredients and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. Sign me up, please.
The Revolution Foods Meal Kids come in several flavors, including the ham and cheddar meal kit, turkey and cheddar meal kit, peanut butter and jelly meal kit, and cheese pizza meal kit. We tried them all except the cheese pizza. We couldn’t get our hands on them because they were completely sold out (and had been according to the staff), so I’m guessing they’re pretty darn popular.
We were having a rainy day here in Chicagoland. To make the day a bit more fun, I decided we would have an indoor picnic and try out the new meals! We put out the blanket, picked one of the meals and settled in for lunch, pink lemonade and laughter. The kids really liked being able to build their own “sandwiches” using the wheat crackers, cheese and lunch meats. My youngest one still built his lunch and then ate the pieces separately. That’s a five year old for you. And from their point of view, the best thing was the fruit snack, which is the equivalent of one serving of fruit. I know it’s healthy, but they thought it was dessert.
You can find Revolution Foods Meal Kits at Safeway stores nationwide. And to save you a little dough, Revolution Foods is offering a coupon for $1 off one of their meal kits. Click here to get the coupon.
