Each year it goes up on Thanksgiving Day with the help of whatever neices and nephews are at our house. We always go and cut down a live tree at the same tree farm every year- my family did this when I was growing up and my husband and I have continued that tradition. We have a little one this year so I’m excited to start new traditions with him! 🙂

We are just in the phase of starting traditions. Both of us have our moms clamoring for us to take our childhood ornaments, so I don’t know that we will start an ornament tradition that will just impose itself on our children one day. What we have started doing so that we enjoy the season of Advent without rushing ahead to Christmas is putting up a few ornaments every night once the tree is up and then praying as a family. The kids put up the star my daughter and I made on Christmas Eve. The kids are still super young, so we will see what other traditions pop up over the years. 🙂

For a Really Beautiful Tree, get several Christmas Ornament ‘Spinners’, and attach the crystal ornies to it on the tree! We must have close to 24 of these, and the results are just spectacular on the tree! LOTS or rainbows! (and No, we have never had one of the ornies fall off the Spinner, just make sure you have them on there well).

We ended up getting some doubles of items the year we got married, so I returned them to the store and used them to get ornaments instead.
